Officers used school security video and license plate readers to quickly identify and arrest a suspect, and investigators confirmed no students or staff witnessed the incident.

Activists Claim Oak Lawn Cops Put 14-Year-Old In Chokehold At Public Meeting, Demand Outside Investigation (patch.com) — Oak Lawn residents and Arab American activists are demanding an outside investigation after video showed multiple Oak Lawn police officers restraining a 14-year-old boy, with one appearing to use a chokehold, during an Aug. 5 commission meeting. Authorities say the 29-year-old allegedly stabbed a 30-year-old man during a fight in Washington Heights; he's now in custody and due in court for a detention hearing.
