“We heard two big bangs … I went to see if my dad was OK,” Neff said. “I looked out the window in his bathroom and saw that there was a car right in the front yard.”
Witnesses said an Acura traveling south on Harlem Avenue hit a light pole before slamming in a brick wall at the entrance to the park at 88th Street and Harlem Avenue. A decorative boulder sent the Acura airborne where the car rolled three times and came to a rest on its roof.
Neff’s mobile home sustained minor damage but said it could have been a lot worse.
“A few more feet and [the car] could have gone through the bay window where my 7-week-old and I were sleeping,” the young mother said.
