Cast and crew of "Macbeth" advances to IHSA state finals!

The Contest Play production of “Macbeth” from Richards High School won the Illinois High School Association Sectional championship on Saturday to advance to the IHSA state finals.

Mike Badger, Jon Nebor, Lauren Davis, Claudia Baranowski, and Rick Keeley directed the production. In addition to winning first place, Richards students won many individual honors.

Joe Fraider, Damian Rzeszutek, and Julia Stalzer won Best Lighting and Jaylen Johnson won Best Sound at the sectional competition. In addition Mary Gacek, Stella Chinchilla, Reya Graham, Annie Sheahan, Kate Fraider, and Shaquoia Mitchell earned All-Sectional Cast honors.

The weekend before “Macbeth” also took first place at the South Suburban Conference Drama Festival.
