Cook County Hosts Green Fair This Saturday

Shred your paper, recycle your electronics, test drive an EV and learn about rain barrels Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL -- The Bridgeview Courthouse parking lot will be the place to be this Saturday, Sept. 22 for the first-ever Cook County Green Fair. The fair is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Fifth Municipal Courthouse is located at 10220 S. 76th Ave., Bridgeview.

Attendees will be able to shred their personal papers, recycle old electronics and test drive an electric vehicle. Information about rain barrels and solar panels will also be on site. Learn how to take an adventure and get healthy in nature how to save on utility bills. There will also be chances to win a smart thermostat and so much more.

Shredding -- Bring items in paper bags or boxes. Please don’t bring paper in plastic bags or include magazines, newspapers, craft paper or other paper that can be recycled curbside. Paper will be shredded off-site.

Electronic recycling -- Accepted items include common household electronics. Bring your old TV; only one per Cook County resident family will accepted up until 100 TVs have been collected. ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: large appliances, air conditioners, batteries , hazardous and chemical waste.

Electric vehicle ride and drive -- Come and test drive an EV for free or charge your electric vehicle for free on site.
