OAK LAWN, IL — The Dist. 218 Board of Education met on Sept. 16 to discuss the upcoming superintendent search. Dr. Ty Harting will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year after a distinguished career with Community High School District 218.

The board discussed all aspects of the search process and determined an initial timeline.
“The timeline established allows for community engagement, strong recruiting efforts, and an opportunity to fully vet the candidates” D218 board president Thomas Kosowski.

Dist. 218 board believes that through a comprehensive process, a strong candidate will be identified who will be able to build on the good work established under Dr. Harting’s leadership. The district comprises Richards (Oak Lawn), Eisenhower (Blue Island) and Shepard (Palos Heights) high schools, along with the Delta and Summit Learning Center and Adult Transition Program.
