D218 wins Solar for All grant

Array of solar panels at Eisenhower, D/S to cut electric bills more than 90%!!

In the weeks prior to winter break people driving past the Eisenhower High School campus in Blue Island may have noticed a lot of activity on the roof -- these photos show the result.

District 218 won a grant from Solar for All, a state program that funded the materials and installation of solar panels now covering the roofs of Eisenhower and Delta/Summit.

Sites winning funds for Solar For All must meet certain socioeconomic guidelines, so Shepard and Richards did not qualify. The installer believes Eisenhower and D/S will see a 90% reduction in electric bills.
