Dead Dogs Found at a South Suburban Animal Hospital
Cook County Sheriff's Department investigates Dolton Animal Hospital after finding dead, sick and neglected dogs there on Sunday.

A police officer who brought a stray dog to Dolton Animal Hospital Sunday around noon found several dead dogs inside and many dogs in “various stages of emaciation,” according to the Cook County Sheriff’s office.
The sheriff isinvestigating, said Deputy Chief Michael Anton, after four dead dogs, nine sick dogs and one sick cat were found in the hospital’s basement.

“It was a lot of forces, urine, dead animals,” Anton told NBC Chicago. “There was a fair amount of neglect going on here, no question about that. ... Those dogs were close to dying.”
The Cook County Animal Control removed the dead and living animals, taking the sick ones to other animal hospitals. WGN TV reports that at least two of the animals were being boarded, and authorities are now looking for the owners.
