In the early morning hours of July 16, Serhii and Tetiana Dushenko, and their sons, 7-year-old Daniel and Matthew were hit on the passenger side of their 2022 Toyota Sienna near the 95th Street and Ridgeland Avenue intersection. The driver was speeding over 100 miles per hour, and the driver was later found to be twice the legal drinking limit, police said.

The occupants of both heavily damaged vehicles required extrication. Tetiana and Daniel were treated and released. Matthew succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
