Drive-Thru Food Pantry Set For Saturday In Oak Lawn
Greater Chicago Food Depository will be distributing produce and food staples Saturday, Aug. 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL — The Greater Chicago Food Depository produce mobile will be dropping off produce and staples from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 15. The drive-thru food pantry will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4660 W. 94th St., Oak Lawn, east of the Hilton Oak Lawn.
St. Paul, along with Oak Lawn Community Church and Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ each offer a community food pantry. The churches have been collaborating with the food depository this summer to distribute food to area residents. Spoiled food from power outages caused by Monday’ storm combined with families facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic brings much welcomed food relief.
This is a drive-thru pantry and distribution is open to public. Residents are asked to have their trunk or back seat empty so boxes can be quickly be loaded into vehicles. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Residents will be asked to provide their Zip Code and number of people in their household for record keeping purposes.
