As of May 24, close to 800 people had registered for the 4th annual Running for Hope 5K Run/Fun Walk, hosted by the Running for Hope Association.
Proceeds from the race will support Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House near Hope Children’s Hospital.
Last year’s event was a huge success as hundreds of runners of all ages raised more than $57,000. This year’s event is sure to be an even greater success with more than $19,000 already raised.

“The money raised will benefit the Ronald McDonald House, which is a home away from home for hundreds of families with children receiving treatment at Hope Children’s Hospital,” said Lisa Boland, manager of the child life program and member of the Running for Hope Association. “We are excited that such a large amount of money has been raised thus far and look forward to surpassing the amount raised last year.”
The Ronald McDonald House near Hope Children’s Hospital opened its doors in December 2008 and has served more than 600 families and provided over 850 meals. Money raised will support the operational costs of the house to continue providing families a comfortable and welcoming place to live during a difficult time.
