
Goodwill’s Pass It On Donation Challenge ended on April 30 with 1,180 schools participating and PRIDE Alternative School in Oak Lawn winning a visit from Chicago Blackhawks Defenseman Brian Campbell.
The alternative school has 150 students and they donated 41,066 items to Goodwill. The other top two schools were St. Joseph’s, of Downer’s Grove, with 30,201 items donated and Liberty School, of Orland Park, that donated 26,155 items.
This is the first year Goodwill sponsored this event and the schools and communities really rallied around the Pass It On promotion. All participating schools, in just the month of April, donated a total of 512,900 items.

PRIDE Alternative School is planning an all-school assembly as well as separate visits to each classroom by Campbell.
Working with kids is close to Campbell’s heart as he supports his Campbell for Kids Foundation that works directly with “Autism Speaks,” the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization.
