Chicago Kiwi Club hosts dinner and musical for Park Lawn

Members of the Kiwi Club of Chicago are taking reservations for 3rd Annual Dinner and Musical Play “Gypsy” to benefit individuals with developmental disabilities at Park Lawn.

According to the Drury Lane description of “Gypsy” attendees can expect a show that is winner of three Tony Awards and is considered by many critics to be the greatest American musical ever written. “Gypsy “is based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, a famous burlesque stripper. This show tells the story of Rose, an overbearing stage mother who is determined to break into the big time by pushing a vaudeville career onto her two daughters.

The show will take place at the Drury Lane 100 Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181 on Sunday, March 25, 2012, and beginning at 3:00 pm with dinner at 4:00 pm.

The Kiwi Club of Chicago is a group of current and retired American Airlines flight attendants.  They have been connected with Park Lawn from the start in 1955 when several Kiwi members volunteered to help teach the children enrolled in Park Lawn’s classes.  The Kiwi Club of Chicago Dinner and Musical will benefit Park Lawn, a non-profit agency, located in Chicago’s southwest suburb that provides vocational services, supported employment, adult developmental training, and residential services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
