Murph’s Gift of Music

The second annual Murph’s Gift of Music benefit kicks off  at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th Street, Merrionette Park.  All ages are welcome to come appreciate the magic of music and celebrate the life of Mike Murphy. Food, beer, and wine will be served. There will also be Chicago sports jersey raffles, basket raffles, silent auctions, bullet tickets and a grand raffle.   The event will benefit The Michael J. Murphy Scholarship Fund. This local scholarship supports music lessons and provides instruments to children from families that do not have the financial means for this opportunity.   Music will be celebrated through performances from bands, A Week Back, The Larkin and Moran Brothers and a special performance with Leave: A Tribute to Murph. The late Michael J. Murphy, or Murph, devoted his life to music. Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, Murph played in four bands, all of which circulated through a variety of venues, pubs, and festivals throughout the Chicago and beyond.
