HICKORY HILLS, IL -- Hickory Hills police asked a Cook County judge to issue an arrest warrant a face-tattooed man currently incarcerated on unrelated charge in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
A detective said around 1:36 a.m. July 14, Jonathan Roman, 21, went to a Hickory Hills Speedway and asked an employee for pen and paper.

Roman allegedly wrote a note stating it was a robbery and he would kill the employee if he didn’t hand over money. Roman also verbally threatened to kill the employee, the detective said.
After he was handed $100, Roman fled with an unknown male, leaving the note behind, according to the charges.

Police recovered the note and sent it to the Illinois State Police crime lab, where Roman’s fingerprints were positively identified, the detective said.
The gas station employee was unable to positively identify Roman in a photo lineup, who has a face tattoo.
The detective told the judge that police interviewed Roman where he is incarcerated at the Shawnee Correctional Center in Shawnee, IL.
According to the detective, Roman said he had no memory of the incident because he was drunk and high on drugs.
Prison records indicate Roman is serving a three-year sentence for burglary. He was paroled in January but was readmitted to the state correctional system in August.
The judge issued a $100,000 warrant for Roman’s arrest.
