Facebook Crook On the Lam After Burbank Cellphone Robbery: COPS

Man agreed to sell cellphone on Facebook, but grabbed the phone back after buyer paid him, police said. Buyer was hit by car chasing him.

BURBANK, IL -- A Chicago man is on the lam after he allegedly robbed a woman in Burbank. Police were in court seeking a warrant for Kendall Fleming, 20. The prosecutor said that Fleming has multiple arrests but no findings.

According to the charges, Fleming was advertising an iPhone 7 for sale on Facebook. A woman sent him a private message via Facebook. The two agreed to meet around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at 85th Street and Cicero Avenue, the Burbank detective told the judge.

The two met and the woman gave Fleming $290 for the phone. Fleming grabbed the phone and pushed the woman down on the ground, the detective said. The woman chased Fleming, but got hit by a car on Cicero Avenue. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was treated for a dislocated arm.

The detective said they located the Facebook post discussing the iPhone 7 transaction. Fleming was wearing the same clothes he wore during the alleged robbery. Police have had conversations with Fleming. He agreed to turn himself into police but so far has not turned up, the detective said.
