'Fall Green And White Night' Previews Oak Lawn Spartans Fall Sports

OAK LAWN, IL — The Oak Lawn Spartans kick off the fall sports season Friday, Aug. 18, with “Fall Green And White Night.” The FREE fall sports preview starts at 5 p.m. All families, future Spartans and residents are invited.

All the sports teams will be represented, and each will give a preview of what’s to come this season. The event will take place inside and out of Oak Lawn Community High School, 9400 Southwest Highway.

On the tennis courts at the north end of the building, girls tennis will showcase the skills of the junior varsity and varsity teams at 5 p.m.

In the Spartan Gymnasium, frosh/soph volleyball starts at scrimmage at 5 p.m., junior varsity will follow at 5:45 p.m., and varsity takes the court at 6:30 p.m. In the pool, there will be a junior varsity against varsity intersquad meet.

On the football field, soccer will get things started as the JV and freshmen teams do battle starting at 5 p.m. The varsity soccer team will play at 5:30 p.m. The cheer and dance teams will perform at 6 p.m., and the band will follow at 6:15 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m. the football team will suit up and take the field. The OLCHS Athletic Boosters will be in attendance for membership sign up as well.
