As of Monday evening, the GoFundMe campaign raised over $10,000. Said a friend on the “Caring for Carie” GoFundMe page:
“Anyone who knew Carie, knew she was one of the most vibrant, loving, outgoing, beautiful people in the world and she lived her life to the fullest. She had so much passion for life and lit up any room she walked into. She is so loved and will be missed by so many. This tragic accident was unexpected and has left her family struggling to find the expenses for a proper funeral and burial. Any and all donations are appreciated and will mean the entire world to our family during this difficult time.”
Carie was a server at Square Celt Ale House and Grill in Orland Park where she was described by many as a “great, hardworking girl.”
She is survived by her devoted parents, Nancy L. Grimes McBride, Daniel Grimes and step-father, Dennis McBride; proud brother, Jason (Mary) Grimes; her adoring niece and nephews, Deeanna, Jacob and Jimmy; and her beloved fiancée, Jeff “Jenks”, as well as her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family and many, many friends.
Carie would have turned 31 on Monday.
Arrangements are being handled by Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W 103rd St, Oak Lawn, where visitation is set for 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 13.
Services for Carie will start at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, also at Blake-Lamb. Interment is at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
