Fire Causes Minor Damage At Oak Lawn Mobile Home Park
Small fire causes minor damage to homes in Airway Mobile Home Park.

OAK LAWN, IL -- A small fire broke out Tuesday morning at an Oak Lawn mobile home park. Maintenance staff were able to extinguish much of the blaze by the time Oak Lawn firefighters arrived. There was some minor damage.
The manager of the Airway Mobile Home Community at 9001 S. Cicero Ave. said their office received a call around 8 a.m. from a neighbor who saw flames. Maintenance staff grabbed a fire extinguisher from the park’s office and another from the laundry room. Much of the fire was out when the Oak Lawn Fire Department arrived around 8:05 a.m. The siding on the neighboring home melted and the porch of the home where the fire originated was damaged.
The fire is believed to have started in a stereo speaker. The speaker was outside or brought outside when the homeowner saw smoke coming from it. No injuries were reported and the fire was contained to a small area. The cause is still under investigation.
