Flooded Streets Reported In Oak Lawn - Updated 4X
Oak Lawn Emergency Management Agency asking residents to avoid certain areas.
2:45 p.m. -- The Oak Lawn Police Department's Emergency Management Agency says the village streets that became flooded after an early morning rain storm on Thursday are now passable.
The National Weather Service is reporting that Southern Cook County received four inches of rain
More rain is expected later this afternoon. The village is asking for residents' assistance in keep catch basins clear of leaves, branches and other debris so that water can drain through the sewer system.

Catch basins are located in the curb area of your street in front of your home. Place any gathered clogging debris in the parkway so that storm runoff and flood water can recede into the Village underground collection system.

12:38 p.m. -- The National Weather Service has extended its flash flood warning for Southern Cook County (including Oak Lawn) until 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
From the NWS warning:
* AT 1121 AM CDT...RUNOFF CONTINUES FROM TORRENTIAL RAINFALL DURING
THE LAST 12 HOURS. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THAT BETWEEN 3 AND 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE WARNED
AREA. RAPID RISES WERE OCCURRING ON CREEKS AND STREAMS OVER THE
WARNED AREA. THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING REPLACES THE PREVIOUS
WARNINGS FOR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO

- Cicero Avenue is open going southbound.
- 103rd Street still closed at Central Avenue and Kilpatrick.
- 99th Street to Pulaski is closed.
- 107th Street is closed from Kostner to Kilpatrick.
The next storm system is expected to move through Southern Cook County at 2 p.m. Thursday, EMC said.

9:41 a.m. - The Oak Lawn Police Department's Emergency Management Agency is reporting flooding conditions in parts of the village. Streets aren't closed but there is some standing water.
Please avoid these areas. Some cars are stuck in water.
- 103rd and Cicero
- 103rd and Central
- 105th and Cicero
- 105th and Kilpatrick
- 95th Street and Harlem
Also, the traffic lights are out at 95th Street and Southwest Highway, but police are there directing traffic.
Oak Lawn EMA says that once the storm sewers catch up, the water should go away.
