FOOTBALL FINAL: Richards Ends Skid Against Lemont

Richards faced its second powerful opponent on Friday, beating long-time nemesis Lemont in a tough road win.

Hasan Muhammad-Rogers, the Richards quarterback with the golden arm, threw for 188 first-half yards and two touchdowns, in the first half.

Richards Coach Tony Sheehan calls Muhammed-Rogers “the best quarterback in the state.”

Lemont lived up to its reputation as well-coached team by holding the Bulldogs’ in the check in the second half.

Richards hung on winning 28-14, ending their four-game losing streak against Lemont.

Muhammad-Rogers told the Chicago Tribune after Friday's win that “what we had on film, they didn’t do. They made some great adjustments …”

Richards opens conference play next Friday, Sept. 20, @ Shepard High School. The undefeated Bulldogs (3-0) battle it out against the Shepard Astros (0-2).
