FOOTBALL: Richards Blanks EP in Conference Opener
Sophomore QB paces offense as Bulldogs stomp Mustangs 35-0.
After falling just short against Morris a week earlier, the Bulldogs came out with fierce intensity against Evergreen Park, especially on defense. Mustang quarterback Brandon White and his team never found the endzone, and dealt with a steady flow of Bulldog pressure throughout the evening.
With usual starting quarterback Tommy Mister sidelined with injury, coach Tony Sheehan and Richards relied on sophomore QB Hasan Muhammed-Rogers to guide the offense. In his first career varsity start, the sophomore put forth a solid effort, rushing for 79 yards and throwing two touchdowns.
The onslaught began late in the first quarter, when sophomore running back Ramontay Hill sped 80 yards for the first of five Bulldog TDs. Other Bulldog scores came on TD receptions by Brian Hettiger and Tacari Carpenter, as well as rushing scores by Deante Cartwright and Carpenter.
