Fourth Of July Parade Steps Off In Pandemic
Oak Lawn's annual Fourth of July Parade steps off Saturday, July 4, featuring mascots, politicians, businesses and Shriners on go carts.
OAK LAWN, IL — Nothing will deter the Village of Oak Lawn’s annual Fourth of July parade, including a pandemic. The procession steps off at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, and features mascots, politicians, businesses and Shriners cavorting on go carts.
The procession will step off from 95th Street and 51st Avenue, then head westbound on 95th street to 55th Court. 95th Street will be closed during the event.
Spectators are encouraged to view the parade on both sides of 95th Street and should arrive early.

Highlights include Those Funny Little People, Chicago White Sox’s Southpaw, Chicago Black Hawk’s Tommy Hawk and Sam the Giant Wheel. The parade also features the Oak Lawn Outlaws, Westside Baseball and Oak Lawn Baseball and Softball, the Oak Lawn Community High School Dance and Cheer Team, Marine Corps League Burbank Detachment and Johnson-Phelps VFW Post 5220.
Oak Lawn elected officials will ride on a trolley, and Democratic IL-03 candidate Marie Newman is tentatively set to march.

Mayor Sandra Bury said she is unable to attend this year, but planned to stop by before the parade to pass out face masks.
