Gimme 5: Oak Lawn's Klaer Eyes Future at ESPN

Spartans' tennis player envisions himself working in Bristol one day, plans to turn dream into reality through hard work and education.

Jason Klaer is a sports enthusiast.

The Oak Lawn junior tennis player has hopes of working for ESPN one day, and he has a plan to get himself there through hard work and education. He already has looked into attending Illinois State to study journalism.

“I’ll probably have to start out small, like on the campus,” Klaer said of how he will get into sports broadcasting. “I’d like to work for ESPN when I’m older.”

He watches SportsCenter, Pardon the Interruption, Around the Horn and SportsNation.

For the time being, Klaer is a doubles player on the Oak Lawn boys varsity tennis team. This is only his second season playing tennis.
