Gimme 5: Richard's Carlos Rodriguez Ready to Lead Team
Richards senior pitcher Carlos Rodriguez was introduced to baseball as a baby. Now, he is the ace on the Richards pitching staff.
Richards senior pitcher Carlos Rodriguez was introduced to baseball at a very young age. In fact, it was right when he was born.
Rodriguez’s dad caught a foul ball from Frank Thomas and he had the prize ready for his son. “Right when I was born, he put it in my hand, and that was it, that’s how I got started,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez is 100 percent Puerto Rican and couldn’t resist the grip the game has on his lineage. “It’s just in my blood. My dad played it and people in Puerto Rico played it. It’s just where I come from,” Rodriguez said.
