BURBANK, IL -- A man wearing a gold baseball cap knocked over a Burbank bank Thursday morning. The bandit was last seen running northbound through a residential area. The heist appears to be a non-takeover robbery.
Police said the suspect entered the US Bank, 5440 W. 87th St., Burbank, around 10:43 a.m. Thursday. The purported bandit, described by bank employees as a black male, presented a note to the teller demanding money. After getting an unknown amount of cash, the man fled on foot. He was last sighted running northbound on Linder Avenue. Police searched the area but couldn’t find the alleged robber.
The bank robber did not display a weapon. It is unknown if he took off in a car. Police said no one was injured. In addition to the gold baseball cap, the suspect wore khaki pants, a black jacket and sunglasses. The FBI is assisting with the investigation.
