Golf Reopens Friday At Stony Creek Under New Pandemic Rules

Expect strict social distancing, contactless reservations and no touch ball cups when golf reopens May 1 under new state rules in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL — Illinois residents will get a glimpse of the “new normal” in the age of coronavirus when golf courses reopen on Friday, May 1. Expect strict social distancing rules, contactless reservations and “no touch” ball cups at Stony Creek Golf Course,5850 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn.

The state has laid out restrictions for every golf course in Illinois. Players or those with household members showing symptoms of COVID-19 should not play. Social distancing between players must be maintained at all times and wear face coverings when six feet of distance can’t be maintained throughout the round.

Stony Creek will be open to golfers from 6a.m. to sunset. The driving range, mini golf, and practice areas are closed.

Other important details pertaining to play include:

  • Twosomes only
  • Tee times will be spaced 15 minutes apart
  • Walking only, no gad carts or pull carts will be rented out, but players can bring their own pull carts.

Tee times must be made in advance by calling 708-388-4653, ext. 401, online on the Oak Lawn Park District website or through GolfNow. The course is only accepting credit card payments.

Stony Creek Bar and Grill will offer a limited food and beverage menu from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
