High School Senior Busted In Home Depot Retail Theft: Cops
Bloom Township High School senior walked out of Home Depot with $2,230 worth of merchandise, prosecutor said.

OAK LAWN, IL -- A high school senior ran off with thermostats, video equipment and circular saws she allegedly stole from the Oak Lawn Home Depot store. Totianna Gaston, 18, of Sauk Village, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of retail theft. Gaston currently has a pending case for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Gaston was spotted May 10 inside the Home Depot, 4060 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn, allegedly plucking merchandise off the shelves. Gaston took off running outside the store when and leaving the store without paying. When she saw the police in the parking the lot, Gaston allegedly took off running. Officers were able to catch up to Gaston and recover the merchandise, the prosecutor said.
The public defender told the judge that Gaston is a senior at Bloom Township High School. A pretrial public safety assessment recommended maximum conditions. Bail was set at $100,000. Gaston’s next court date is June 4 in Bridgeview.

“At her age with a record like that I agree with the maximum conditions,” Felice said.
