BURBANK, IL — Burbank police have released an image taken from a home security video system of a dirty gray van involved in a ruse burglary last week in Burbank.

Around 2:30 p.m. March 25, three men targeted an elderly homeowner in the 8200 block of New England Avenue. Two men approached the elderly homeowner posing as water department workers who needed to check the homeowner’s water heater. One of the men was in the bathroom with the homeowner running the faucet for the man in the basement, while a third accomplice snuck into house and rifled through the homeowner’s bedroom. Stolen was $800 cash and $3,000 in jewelry.

Neighbors in the area noticed a "dirty gray van" parked in the victim's driveway during the time of the incident. The van was last seen traveling westbound on 82nd Street toward New England Avenue.

The men were 30 to 40 years old, around 5-feet-8-inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds, and had slight beards. They were wearing green jackets and each had a small tattoo with red ink on their cheeks.
