Images Released Of Suspect And Vehicle In Oak Lawn Shooting: Police

Oak Lawn police said Audi Q7 had distinctive features and release image of suspect in Cicero Avenue shooting that wounded 14-year-old.

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police have released images of the suspects believed to be the shooters in Saturday’s shooting at 103rd Street and Cicero Ave. that injured a 14-year-old passenger. An Oak Lawn police car was also struck by gunfire.

The incident unfolded at 3 p.m. Saturday, when the driver of a black Audi Q7 began chasing a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Evergreen Park resident in the area of 95th Street and Pulaski Road and continued for two miles to 103rd Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

The 18-year-old driver told police that the Audi continued chasing and shooting at them as they drove westbound on 103rd Street until the teen was able to pull into the BP gas station at 103rd and Cicero. Police said the driver and passenger in the Audi again opened fire on the 18-year-old driver’s vehicle, striking the 14-year-old passenger in the shoulder.

An Oak Lawn squad car en route to the scene of the reported shooting was also struck by gunfire. The 14-year-old passenger was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder. Police have not released a possible motive in why the 18-year-old's vehicle was being pursued and shot at.

Police are looking for a black Audi Q7 that had a paper Texes buyer registration plate. The vehicle has a 10-foot to 12-foot tinted visor across the top of the front windshield, a small yellow triangular sticker to the left of the rear registration, a tow hitch and damage resembling a bullet hole to the upper portion of the rear passenger side pillar.
