OAK LAWN, IL — Leave the porch light on and join Oak Lawn’s first responders for the 39th annual National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 1. Oak Lawn Police and the Oak Lawn Fire Department have a full slate of activities planned for National Night Out on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the municipal parking lot behind village hall, 9446 S. Raymond Ave. This event is FREE.

Tour the police and fire stations (maybe see the jail if no one is in there) and meet Oak Lawn's first responders. Boy Scout Troop 596 will be selling refreshments.

  • SWAT equipment for kids and adults to see and suit up
  • K9 demos
  • Evidence technician demonstrations
  • Tours of the lock-up (jail) facility
  • Burn demo by the Oak Lawn Fire Department
  • Face painter
  • Balloon twister
  • Paw Patrol Chase and Marshall

Since 1984, police departments and communities across the United States have held National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August. More than 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities throughout the nation will participate in National Night Out, promoting public safety and building community.
