Fifth-grade students from Kolmar Elementary School had an "out of this world" experience during their recent field trip to the Adler Planetarium, which connected to their Earth and sky unit in the Amplify science curriculum. According to the students, teachers, and chaperones, the trip was an incredible and educational experience. The students had the opportunity to learn about different planets, create constellations, and even received space dog stickers. One of the highlights for the students was seeing the different telescopes used throughout history. One student commented,

"Learning about the surface of Mars was my favorite part."

The field trip not only offered exciting activities but also taught students about the evaluation of humans’ understanding of space.
