OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School’s boys cross country runner Andrew Leon is hitting his stride at just the right time. After recently earning All-Conference honors at the South Suburban Conference Red meet, he qualified for Saturday’s Illinois High School Association Sectional with a great run at the regional meet.

Leon boasts a season-best time of 16:26 for a three-mile course, and he is aiming to lower that time this Saturday at the sectional.

“Andrew has had an excellent season,” OLCHS head coach Marty Chappetto said. “He works incredibly hard to improve at running and never lets his mark get away from him in races. He exemplifies the grit that is needed to be a great cross-country runner.”
