Man Accused of Possessing 'Remarkable Amount of Pot' In Alsip Park
Amount weighed out to 478 grams, prosecutors said.

A 19-year-old man indicated he had no money for bail after he was charged with possession of 478 grams of cannabis, according to court records.
Prosecutors said that Eric Ornelas was observed sitting in a vehicle parked at Laramie Park at 120th Street and Laramie Avenue in Alsip around 1 a.m. June 10.
Officers said they detected a strong odor of cannabis. Ornelas allegedly admitted to having a grinder in the car.

“That’s a remarkable amount of cannabis,” Cook County Judge Peter Felice said. “You have money for pot but no money for bond.”
Felice told the public defender that defendant was “not being honest with you.”
Bail was set at $10,000. Ornelas is due back in court later this month.
