Mega Lottery - Helping Neighborhood Businesses Recover

We have all suffered at the hands of this pandemic, but some of the hardest hit are the small businesses that have been closed for far too long. Some of these business owners have spent their lives building up their dreams only to have them stomped on by a virus. What if I told you I had an easy way for you to help 25 of our local small businesses try to recover, and you’ll have an opportunity to win some amazing gift certificates worth over $4,500 including the chance at a weekend getaway, would you be interested in hearing more?

The Alsip Chamber of Commerce has partnered with over 25 local businesses in Alsip, Bridgeview, Burbank, Chicago Ridge, Oak Lawn, Palos Hills, Palos Heights, and Worth to create a Mega Lottery worth over $14,000 in gift certificates to try to help these small businesses recover from being closed for so long due to no fault of their own. These are some very dark times, and some of these businesses are counting on these funds just to survive. Without this money, some may not reopen.

Business owner, Terri Tomasik of Westpoint Insurance, specializing in insurance for amateur youth sports teams, noted that while many businesses have tried to pivot to work-from-home or curbside services with significant loss of income and jobs, others like herself, Cosa Bella, Massages Reduce Stress, Synergy Fit Club and the Dance Shop have had a complete collapse of revenue and desperately need this money to survive.

Tickets for the Mega Lottery went on sale Monday, June 1st, and the price is $10 a raffle ticket. Each of the 25 businesses will have a link on their website and Facebook page where you can purchase your $10 raffle tickets, or you can purchase your tickets at the link I have included below. All proceeds go directly to the businesses, and each business will get the same amount of money at the end, but please feel free to buy your tickets from your favorite businesses to let them know you’re trying to help them stay open.

Again, tickets are $10 each, and 3 incredibly lucky winners will each receive a $100 gift certificate from each business, a weekend getaway, and a $1,500 estate planning. That’s over $4,500 in prizes for each person! The 25 businesses that will be participating in the Mega Lottery are O’Hara and Friends Salon, The Dance Shop, Photography by Angel, Massages Reduce Stress, Quality Plus Photo, Jack & Pats, Country House, Windy City Flower Girls, Deja Brew, Simply Sweet Creations, Tom Killoran Photography, Shared News, Clancy’s, Jenny’s Steakhouse, Westpoint Insurance, Natural Health Improvement Center, Riddles Comedy Club, Lanigans Irish Pub, Cosa Bella Day Spa, Three Pink Bears Boutique, MK All Around Travel, Stacked, Lucano’s, and Synergy Fit Club. All of these businesses desperately need your help to stay open once the restrictions are completely lifted. It’s up to us, as a Community, to help our neighbors, our friends, and our businesses thrive once again!

I’d like to give a special thanks to the businesses listed below for sponsoring this event. They will be donating their time and gift certificates to help out their fellow neighborhood businesses but are asking for nothing in return. The 3 lucky winners in addition to receiving the 25 $100 gift certificates will also receive a husband/Wife Estate Plan including Wills, Power of Attorney for Finance and Health care, and Living Wills from Kerlin Walsh Law Group valued at $1,500 as well as some very generous gift certificates from The Plug T-Shirt Store, AVANCE Warehouse, Trojan Plumbing, Diggity Dogs, and Joe’s Italian Villa.

Tickets will be available online only and will be available from June 1st to 11:30 p.m. on June 21st. Raffle winners will be drawn and announced live on Monday, June 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. on the Alsip Chamber of Commerce page at www.facebook.com/alsipchamber.
