Missing Cat Rescued From Site Of Apartment Fire

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn firefighters were back at the scene of an apartment fire that displaced eight people last Sunday. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in 30 minutes, but not before the fire caused significant damage.

Two adults and five children escaped the building in the 9800 block of South Ridgeland Avenue. An eighth person wasn't home when the fire broke out. OLFD Battalion Chief Mike McMillin rescued a kitten from the fire. Three cats, however, were missing

Firefighters went back to the building on Tuesday when one of the missing cats came out of hiding. The cat was brought to Oak Lawn Animal Control, waiting to be reunited with its family.
