Motorcyclist Killed In Bridgeview Crash Identified as Burbank Man

A Burbank man identified as the motorcyclist killed in a two-vehicle crash in Bridgeview late Friday evening.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL -- A 30-year-old Burbank man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Bridgeview late Friday evening. The motorcyclist, identified as Matthew Engelhart, suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene. An investigation remains ongoing.

The accident happened around 10:27 p.m. Friday at the intersection of 87th Street and Olympic Drive. Police determined from witness interviews that the motorcycle was traveling east on 87th Street from Harlem Avenue. A Volkswagen Beetle was preparing to make a left turn west on 87th Street from Olympic Avenue.

Police said it appeared that the motorcycle was unable to stop and and The motorcycle was unable to stop and struck the driver’s side of the car. The driver of the Volkswagen is an 17-year-old juvenile. No citations have yet been issued pending completion of the investigation.
