My Experience Attending OLPL Fan Fest: Guardians of the Galaxy
Meeting Three Talented Authors from Oak Lawn

As a fan of all things pop culture, I was beyond excited to attend this year's OLPL Fan Fest. Little did I know that I would have the pleasure of meeting three talented authors from the community: Zachary Jeffries, Myah Bawadi, and Emily Hornburg.
First up was Zachary Jeffries (or also known as Z Jeffries), who writes contemporary Young Adult fantasy brimming with tropes, humor, and action. I was immediately drawn to his booth, which was adorned with a banner displaying his books, from "Angel of Fate", "Unseen Curse", "Pro Wrestling Saves Earth", to his Hide & Seek Chronicles. To learn more about Zachary, visit his website: https://www.zjeffries.com.

Next, I had the pleasure of meeting Myah Bawadi, who recently published her first book "Infinity Legion" the first novel in The Legends of Infinity Series. Infinity Legion "tells the story of Soleil Yamanu, a soldier who craves power and must prove her worth to become a second-in-command to a Knight of Infinity." She had a booth displaying her new book. To learn more about Bawadi and the inspiration behind her book, an informative article was written by St. Xavier University. Her passion for writing was infectious and it was clear that she had poured her heart and soul into her work. You can visit her website at: https://linktr.ee/myahbawadi.

Lastly, I met Emily Hornburg, a writer of fantasy novels. Her booth was decorated with an array of colorful bookmarks and posters, showcasing her fairy tale retelling series - The Cursed Queens: "The Night's Chosen", "The Shadow's Heir", and her most recent book, "The Forest's Keeper". I was drawn in by the stunning cover art and her pleasant personality. To read more about Emily, visit her website at https://emilyhornburg.com/.

Overall, meeting these three authors was one of the highlights of my OLPL Fan Fest experience. It was amazing to see the passion and dedication they had for their craft and to have the opportunity to speak with them one-on-one. It's clear that the community is filled with talented writers who are truly passionate about their work. I left feeling inspired and motivated to purchase their books for a fun summer filled with reading.
