Oak Forest Man Accused of Fleeing Hit and Run Crash
Prosecutor said man got out of his car and tossed the keys under the vehicle after blowing three stop signs.

CHICAGO RIDGE, IL -- An Oak Forest man blew through three stop signs trying to evade Chicago Ridge police, prosecutors said. Christopher Colby, 41, appeared before Cook County Judge Donald Havis on a felony charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding. Colby is also charged with traffic violations.
According to the charges, a driver, later identified as Colby, was involved in a crash around 7:51 a.m. Dec. 23. Colby allegedly fled the scene. Police saw a car matching the description of the vehicle said to be involved in the crash.
The prosecutor said officers followed the vehicle which drove to a dead end in the 10500 block of Austin Avenue. The car made a u-turn and blew threw three stop signs until it stopped at 108th Street and Massasoit. Colby allegedly got out and threw the keys under the car, where police took him into custody.

Colby is currently on parole for an 18-month sentence stemming from a conviction earlier this year for possession of a controlled substance. The prosecutor said was driving on a revoked license at the time of his arrest.
Bail was set at $25,000. Colby is due back in court Jan. 19 in Bridgeview.
