Oak Lawn Athletic Department Selects Basketball Player Reagan Cameron As Spartan Player Of The Month

Each month the Athletic Department selects a Spartan Athlete of the Month. The recipient for the month of January is senior girls basketball player Reagan Cameron.

In the month of January, Cameron scored a total of 154 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, dished out nine assists, and had 15 steals during the nine games. The team went 6-3 over that span, and Cameron was the biggest catalyst for such a solid month.

She was only held to single digits in one of those nine games as she was the primary focus of the opponents’ scouting report. A few highlight performances were a 28-point effort (career high) in a win over Chicago Christian, a 23-point game against Sandburg, and multiple 19-point games. The crowning achievement for January was when Cameron surpassed 1,000 career points and received a commemorative ball from coach Mark Sevedge to honor the accomplishment.

Other nominees for Spartan Athlete of the Month included Anthony Bitner (Wrestling), Mia DiGrazia (Girls Bowling), Steven Hebel (Boys Bowling), Trey Ward (Boys Basketball), and Jeremy Gravelle (Boys Swim).
