CHILDREN’S PLAY AUDITIONS- Why is a raven like a writing desk? Follow us down the rabbit hole to find out! Auditions for this year’s Children’s Play: Alice in Wonderland will be Wednesday, February 26th after school in the Little Theatre. An Informational Meeting will be held Tuesday, February 25th after school in the Little Theatre. No previous theatre experience required! See you there – and don’t be late!
GLOBAL SOCIETY WEEK - Find the Flag Challenge continues! If you find a hidden flag around school, please return the flag to Mr. Yerian in Room 256 after school to claim your prize!

GRAD NITE- Seniors: Grad Nite tickets are on sale now! Online and in the main office. Check your email for all information and permission slips, or stop by the Media Center with any questions.
HUMAN LIBRARY- where the humans are the books. Come to hear their stories.
We've got our human library book titles made up of Spartan staff and students. We're really excited about today's Spartan Plus! Sign up in Skyward under 'other', 'human library'.
SERVICE HOURS- Need service hours? Check out these opportunities:
- Help set up the Beds Plus shelter at Pilgrim Faith church each Thursday evening
- Make sandwiches for the homeless on Saturday at Simmons Middle School
- Help out the PTSA at the Turnabout Dance Saturday night

Club/Team News
SPRING SPORTS TRYOUTS- All students interested in participating in a spring sport:
The spring sports season is right around the corner! Our spring sports include Baseball, Softball, Boys & Girls Track, Badminton, Boys Volleyball, Girls Soccer, and Boys Tennis. If you are interested in trying out for any of our spring athletic programs, please visit olchsathletics.com for a full tryout schedule and registration. All spring athletes must have a physical on file with the athletic office and register on the athletics web site for their specific sport. If you have any questions, please stop by the athletic office.
BASEBALL- There is a meeting on Wednesday 2/26 after school in room 27 for all freshmen and sophomore students interested in playing baseball. The meeting should last no longer than 15 minutes. There is a meeting on Thursday 2/27 after school in room 27 for all junior and senior students interested in playing baseball. The meeting should last no longer than 15 minutes. Please see Coach Gerny in room 27 if you are unable to attend the meeting.
GIRLS SOCCER- To all girls: If you are interested in trying out for the Girls Soccer Team this spring, please come to a short informational meeting Thursday 2/20 in room 146 at 3:05. We’ll discuss tryouts, physicals, registration and the start of the season. It will be short but important if you plan on trying out. If you can’t make the meeting at least join All Girls Soccer Remind with the Code @4d8fa or see Coach Faro in room 146 before school.
SPEECH TEAM- Your Spartan Speech Team is going to State! They placed 3rd overall out of 22 schools. The team had a historic showing this past Saturday qualifying 8 individual events and the Performance in the Round for the IHSA Tournament in Peoria this weekend. Those include Alondra Camacho who was your Sectional Champion in Original Oratory and 3rd in Informative Speaking, Sofia Serna was your Sectional Runner Up in Extemporaneous Speaking and 3rd Place finisher in Impromptu Speaking, Mary Majcherek was your Sectional Champion in Radio Speaking, Jada Jackson was your Sectional Runner Up in Poetry Reading, Ella Moore took third in Humorous Interpretation, and Grace Sievers also took third in Oratorical Declamation.
The Cast of the 2019-2020 Performance in round is Jake Majerczyk, Marco Hernandez, Lucas Wessel, Lucas Sodaro, Micheal Mueller, Saad Mullhem, Matt Rios, Shane Rios, Grace Pagliaro, Cylia Srmek, Alexia Stang, Melak Shehadeh, Haven Rupsch, Tori Prause, and Layla Nemri.
