CHILDREN’S PLAY AUDITIONS- Why is a raven like a writing desk? Follow us down the rabbit hole to find out! Auditions for this year’s Children’s Play: Alice in Wonderland will be Wednesday, February 26th after school in the Little Theatre. An Informational Meeting will be held Tuesday, February 25th after school in the Little Theatre. No previous theatre experience required! See you there – and don’t be late!

GRAD NITE- Seniors: Only 5 days left to purchase Grad Nite tickets! They can be purchased either online or in the main office. Check your email for all information and permission slips, or stop by the Media Center with any questions.

Club/Team News

BASEBALL- There is a meeting on Wednesday 2/26 after school in room 27 for all freshmen and sophomore students interested in playing baseball. The meeting should last no longer than 15 minutes. There is a meeting on Thursday 2/27 after school in room 27 for all junior and senior students interested in playing baseball. The meeting should last no longer than 15 minutes. Please see Coach Gerny in room 27 if you are unable to attend the meeting.

GIRLD TRACK AND FIELD- Girls Track and Field competed in their first invite of the year this past weekend. Our Lady Spartans put up some great marks at the Huey Johnson Invite racing against 10 other teams. With a 5th place finish for varsity and a 1st place finish for our Fresh/Soph team, we are looking forward to a great season. Some of the notable performances on Varsity, Veronika Stelter 3rd place in the 400 meter dash, Abby Cafagna 6th place in the Long jump, and Megan Berry 6th place in the Triple Jump, the 4 by 200 meter relay of Megan Berry, Allysa Canales, Brittney Mrowca and Chloe Artus finished in 4th place. And for the Fresh/Soph this was their first invite of the season…and they started out great. The 4 by 800 meter relay of Salsabeel Awwad, Lindsay Aceremo, Natalie Catera and Danika Cader started the invite off with a 1st place finish, The 4 by 200 meter relay of Emily Puente, Maddie Ryan, Alyssa Perez, and Vanessa Carr finished in 5th place and at the end of the day, the 4 by 400 meter relay of Salsabeel Awwad, Ava Cipriani, Maddie Ryan, and Lindsay Aceremo took home another 1st place. Additional individual performances on Fresh/Soph, Emily Puente 2nd place in the 55 meter dash, and 5th place in the 200m dash, Ava Cipriani 1st place in the 400 meter dash, Salsabeel Awwad 1st place in the 800 meter run, and Zaria Elise Simons 1st place in the 2 mile. Vanessa Carr 3rd place in the 55 High hurdles and 2nd place in the triple jump. Madison Ryan 4th place in the 55 high hurdle and 4th place in pole vault. Victoria Niton 2nd place in High Jump and 5th place in the 55 high hurdles. Danika Cader 4th place in the mile, Natalie Cetera 5th place in the mile, Colleen McDonough 5th place in the 800 meter run.

All the coaches are so proud of you hard work, the season has just stared. Keep up the great work. Any new members can still join, contact Coach Fiene in room 211.

SPEECH TEAM RESULTS- The Spartan Speech Team had a fantastic showing at the IHSA State Tournament - 4 out of the 9 Qualifiers broke into finals. Alondra Camacho is your State Runner Up in Information Speaking and finished 6th in Original Oratory. Sofia Serna placed 4th in Impromptu Speaking. The Performance in the Round Cast of Moby Dick placed 5th! The team finished 12th in the State! If you’d like to see these performances, there will be a showcase this Friday at 7pm in the Little Theater. Tickets are $10 and available from Speech Team Members or at the door.

All Speech Team Members please report to Rm 164 immediately after school for a short rap up meeting. Please arrive at 3:05.

SPRING SPORTS TRYOUTS- All students interested in participating in a spring sport:

The spring sports season is right around the corner! Our spring sports include Baseball, Softball, Boys & Girls Track, Badminton, Boys Volleyball, Girls Soccer, and Boys Tennis. If you are interested in trying out for any of our spring athletic programs, please visit olchsathletics.com for a full tryout schedule and registration. All spring athletes must have a physical on file with the athletic office and register on the athletics web site for their specific sport. If you have any questions, please stop by the athletic office.
