Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park Churches Plan Vigil For Gun Violence Victims
Community invited to a prayer vigil for victims of mass shootings Tuesday, June 7, at Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ in Oak Lawn.

OAK LAWN, IL — Churches in Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn invite the community to participate in a prayer vigil for victims of gun violence Tuesday, June 7. The vigil starts at 7 p.m. at Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, 9411 S. 51st Ave., Oak Lawn.
Immanuel United Church of Christ in Evergreen Park, and Pilgrim Faith and Salem United Church of Christ in Oak Lawn, are co-sponsoring the service.
The vigil will focus on healing for all victims of gun violence, especially the most recent mass shootings in Buffalo, NY, Laguna Woods, CA, and Uvalde, TX. Resources will also be available for participants to continue their healing through action.

“We know what we have to do, and we need to be moved toward the next steps with all the grace the Christian Church affords us,” the churches said in a written statement.
