Oak Lawn-Hometown Halloween Sex Offender Safety Map

There are 28 registered sex offenders living in Oak Lawn and four in Hometown. Find out where.


Before kids go out trick or treating on Halloween, fall is a good time to take an inventory of who is living in your neighborhood.

Oak Lawn currently has 28 registered sex offenders listed on the Illinois Sex Offender Registry, 21 of whom are classified as sexual predators.

Twenty-seven are currently living in the community, one is incarcerated in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Convicted sex predator and child pornographer Stephan J. Haadad, 61,who turned up in the Advocate Christ Medical Center ER last February, is still listed as missing, according to the state’s sex offender registry.

Haddad had given a Burbank address when he was picked up by the Burbank Fire Department for leg pain, an Oak Lawn police report said.

Macias Salvador is also listed in the state registry as “non-compliant.” Salvador’s last known address is an apartment complex at 4737 W. 101st St., Oak Lawn.

Hometown has four sex offenders living in the community, including three that are sexual predators.

Registered sex offenders are prohibited from passing out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in a Halloween costume or other child-centered holiday character, such as Santa and the Easter Bunny, in public. Registered sex offenders, however, may wear a Halloween costume in their home, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.

Pins on the map represent addresses of offenders convicted of sex crimes. Roll your cursor over the pins, and you will see more information pop up, including the registered sex offender’s name, address, current age, convictions, and the age of the offender and victim at the time of the offense.

You may want to avoid trick or treating at these houses and apartments on Halloween, or merely be aware of who’s living in your neighborhood during the rest of the year.
