Oak Lawn Readies for Annual Fourth of July Parade

Professional sports team mascots, local high schools, community groups, scouts, veterans and more will march in parade.

Oak Lawn, IL -- Oak Lawn’s annual parade celebrating our nation’s independence will step off at 10 a.m. Monday July 4.

The parade route will head west on 95th Street from 51st Street to 55th Court (Cold Stone Creamery to Premo’s).

Parade participants will feature all the professional Chicago sports team mascots (except for Clark the Cub), including Benny the Bull, Tommy Hawk, Staley da Bear, Southpaw and Sky Guy.

The Richards High School Marching Band, Oak Lawn Community High School band members, Poms and Dance teams, community organizations, churches, youth teams, local Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts, the park district and Park Lawn are also lining up for the big day.

The Oak Lawn mayor and trustees, village manager and Congressman Dan Lipinski will be doling out candy.

After the parade, head over the Centennial Park for the Oak Lawn Park District’s Star Spangled Celebration featuring games, contests and Oak Lawn’s Got Talent from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The village and park district will be shooting off fireworks around 9 p.m. at Richards High School, 106th Street and Central Avenue, Oak Lawn. .
