Oak Lawn Seniors Step Up To Lead Spartan Dance And Cheer Teams

Regep and Ramos surpass expectations to lead Oak Lawn Community High School dance and cheer squads.

OAK LAWN, IL — There is striving for personal excellence, and then there is excelling right past personal excellence and leading others down that same path. For dance team member Victoria Regep and cheerleader Anisa Ramos, leading others toward excellence is simply part of their personality.

These two seniors continually step up to guide their respective teams. Both of them go above and beyond expectations in order to make their teams better.

“As a senior, Tori is an exceptional contributor to the Oak Lawn Community High School varsity dance team by being kind to her team members, energetic in practice, and confident in her dance skills,” head coach Ryan Brandt said. “Tori regularly reaches out to her teammates when they need help perfecting a skill, and she continuously uplifts the team in challenging workouts.

“She finds every opportunity to put herself outside of her comfort zone in order to grow as a dancer, student, and individual, leading her to be a great role model for her dance team members and classmates.”

The same can be said for Ramos and the cheer team.

“Anisa has been a varsity cheerleader since her freshman year,” head coach Maria Vanderwarren said. “Her attitude and dedication are amazing. She is always smiling, positive, and encouraging to her teammates.”

“Anisa goes above and beyond by helping our junior varsity squad and also mentors and tutors other teammates as needed. She will push herself to be the best she can be, and we are fortunate to have her on the sidelines as well as on the competition mat. Anisa is a great asset to the varsity cheer team.”

Both dance and cheer will be performing at tonight’s homecoming football game and then again next week at the home game.
