Oak Lawn Spartan Dominates Social Studies Scholastic Bowl

OAK LAWN, IL -- Amin Al-Ashqar showed off his mental acuity by dominating in the first ever Social Studies Bowl at Oak Lawn Community High School. Amin continued to demonstrate his unique talent for retaining information and facts by leading the Varsity Scholastic Bowl team to a 2nd place finish in the conference.

Beyond this team accomplishment, Amin also earned All-Conference Honors in the South Suburban Conference, but truly announced his arrival on the Scholastic Bowl scene by being chosen as one of only twelve individuals to make the All-Sectional Team from the Providence Sectional of the State Tournament. Amin is only the third OLCHS Scholastic Bowl team member in the team's history to be honored with this award.

Amin looks to build on these achievements next year and hopefully bring home the Conference Championship.
