OAK LAWN, IL —The Oak Lawn Community High School boys bowling team rolled their way to single-game record Dec. 2, and the third highest single-game total in Illinois state history, according to the Illinois High School Association website.
Trailing rival Reavis High School by 73 pins after one game, things didn’t look too bright for the Spartan boys bowling team. However, the Spartans rallied in game two and shot an astronomical 1,283 to defeat the Rams, 2,324 to 2149. The huge game of 1,283 set an OLCHS single-game record.
In game two, Ramiro Garcia led the way bowling a 273. He was followed by Steven Hebel with a 259 and Domas Rasymas with a 257. Logan Wendt and Sam Bergamo each bowled a 247. It was an incredible accomplishment. At one point, each bowler had six to seven strikes in a row.
