'Obnoxious' Teen Charged for Stealing Cup of Pop: Police
Teen poured soft drink into water cup at McDonald's and disrupted restaurant with her friends, police said.

Oak Lawn police charged a teen with disorderly conduct, theft and criminal damage to property when she and her pals disrupted a fast food restaurant, reports said.
Officers responded to a disturbance call at McDonald’s, 6034 W. 95th St. Employees told police that 18-year-old Kamari Johnson and two male friends entered the restaurant around noon May 12.
Johnson went up to the counter and asked for a cup of water. The employee told Johnson that the cup was to be used for water only.

According to the report, the employee watched Johnson pour a soft drink into the water cup. When the employee confronted her, police said Johnson became “belligerent and disruptive” and was asked to leave.
Police said Johnson refused and put her feet on the wall. Meanwhile, her friends started dribbling a basketball around the restaurant.

Employees told police the three were being “loud and obnoxious.” Restaurant employees called Oak Lawn police, reports said.
When officers arrived, they asked the males for their identification. Officers also asked Johnson for her ID, who claimed not to have one, police said.
Officers asked for Johnson’s date of birth, who allegedly laughed and asked “why?”
Police said Johnson continued to be uncooperative and refused to give officers her information. After several requests, police said Johnson finally gave officers her ID. The teen was asked to turn around so the officer could handcuff her.
Johnson allegedly replied “it was only a cup of pop,” and tried walking away with the handcuffs on while she continued to be uncooperative, reports said.
Her male companions were given formal criminal trespass warnings and told not to return to McDonald’s.
Johnson is scheduled for a court hearing June 7 in Bridgeview.
