OLCHS Senior Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

OAK LAWN, IL -- An Oak Lawn Community High School senior recently earned his Eagle Scout badge, the highest honor achievable in the Boy Scouts of America. Zachary Zobak was presented with his Eagle Award March 13 in a Court of Honor presentation at St. Gerald Church.

Zach received his Eagle rank after earning 34 merit badges and completing his service project of collecting supplies for the Chicago Autism Academy in Frankfort. He advanced through the ranks of scouting as a member of Troop 619, a charter that has existed since 1947. Zach has held the office of assistant patrol leader, quartermaster and Order of the Arrow, among others.

At OLCHS, Zach has been a member of the cross country and track and field teams. While working to complete his goal of 100 community service hours, Zach also held down a job at Five Guys restaurant.

The Eagle badge is performance based. Only five percent of all Boy Scouts achieve this prestigious rank.
