OLHMS Honors Those Who've Served At Veterans Day Assembly
Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School honors veterans from the community in annual Veterans Day assembly.
OAK LAWN, IL -- Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students paid tribute Oak Lawn’s veterans during an all-school assembly at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School. OLHMS welcomed 100 veterans from the community to the Friday assembly, many of them students' parents and grandparents.
Faculty and students gave speeches and shared recollections of the military veterans in their lives. Veterans and active military in the audience were introduced from the audience. The OLHMS choir and band played rousing patriotic tunes. Dist. 123 holds the assembly every year to honor local veterans.
